Tirlán has donated €3,000 to Embrace FARM
A cheque for the charitable donation was handed over at the National Ploughing Championships by Tirlán chairperson, John Murphy to Embrace FARM founder, Brian Rohan and Norma Rohan. This is the second year that Tirlán has provided financial support to the charity for its important work.
Brian Rohan said it’s important to families going through a trauma to be able to speak to others who have experienced injury or loss and know they will get through it. Embrace FARM provides many different types of support, including WhatsApp groups and individual supports, which help people through the bad days, he says, and allows families support one another.
“We have new families coming to us every year. For a family to come and be able to speak to another family that has lost a child or other family member or lost a leg or an arm, it’s a consolation to know there are people out there to talk to who survived that trauma. We all have our bad days and families help one another through those days.”
Tirlán chairperson, John Murphy, said unfortunately accidents and injuries do occur on farms and Tirlán is pleased to be able to support Embrace FARM and the invaluable support it provides to families. “It is so important to us that we have a body like Embrace FARM. Anything that we can do to support, we are delighted to do.”
Embrace FARM was founded 10 years ago and now helps 400 families.
