As the Allianz Hurling League gets underway, Tirlán has begun its first season as proud sponsor of Kilkenny GAA.

All Kilkenny hurling team jerseys, sports and leisurewear from Minor through to Senior Level now carry the Tirlán logo, alongside Avonmore, its market-leading dairy brand.

The Avonmore name has been synonymous with Kilkenny GAA since 1994. This makes it one of the longest-running, most iconic and recognised GAA partnerships in the country.

PJ Kenny, Kilkenny GAA Chairman, said that he was glad to see the long-standing relationship transition to Tirlán as a new season begins and Kilkenny pursue silverware yet again at League and Championship level.

“We are delighted to seamlessly transition to Tirlán and retain the association with an organisation that makes a huge contribution to the southeast of the country.”

Jim Bergin, Tirlán CEO, said: “There is huge anticipation as we start the Allianz Hurling League and as the country’s elite hurlers take to the field. We’re proud to take the baton on this superb partnership with Kilkenny GAA teams. It’s a great association for Tirlán as a farmer-owned Co-op and Avonmore as Ireland’s leading dairy brand.

“The commitment, dedication and pursuit of excellence exhibited by the Kilkenny inter-county teams fits really well with the values that we pursue in Tirlán Co-operative, which is 100% owned by farmers in the south and east of Ireland. We particularly wish Derek Lyng, the players and management the best for the season ahead.”

The newly-launched Kilkenny jersey features the Tirlán logo across the shoulders at the back and one sleeve. The new leisure wear collection also displays Tirlán branding and is available locally in all usual sports outlets or via the sportswear manufacturer, O’Neill’s.
