A partnership spanning more than three decades continues this year as Tirlán marks its 32nd season as proud sponsor of Kilkenny GAA.

The Avonmore brand has appeared on Kilkenny jerseys since 1994, with Tirlán Co operative added in 2024. Together, they represent one of the longest-standing and most recognisable partnerships in the GAA.

Speaking at the launch in UPMC Nowlan Park, PJ Kenny, Kilkenny GAA Chairman, said the continued backing of Tirlán remains hugely important as Derek Lyng and his squad progress through the 2026 season.

“We are delighted to continue our long-standing partnership with Tirlán, an organisation that makes an enormous contribution to communities across the South-East.

“This support has been a constant for Kilkenny GAA for more than three decades, and it means a great deal to our players, management and supporters as the season builds through the League and into the Championship.”

Derek Lyng, Kilkenny Senior Hurling Manager, welcomed the continuation of the sponsorship and acknowledged its significance to the group.

“The support of Tirlán and the Avonmore brand has been part of Kilkenny hurling for generations.

Our players are very aware of the tradition behind that jersey, and we’re proud to represent an organisation that shares our values of hard work, commitment and excellence.”

John Murphy, Tirlán Chairperson, said the relationship remains a source of pride for the farmer-owned Co op.

“We’re immensely proud to continue our partnership with Kilkenny GAA. As a 100% farmer-owned Co-op, Tirlán has deep roots in communities across the South-East, and Avonmore is Ireland’s leading dairy brand. Top athletes require the best of nutrition and our high quality dairy products are a perfect fit for top level sports.

Jim O’Neill, Chief Operating & Consumer Officer at Tirlán, highlighted the strength of the partnership and its connection to local communities:

“The association between Kilkenny GAA and the Avonmore brand is long-standing and meaningful - built on shared values, community spirit and a commitment to excellence. We wish Derek, his players and management team every success for the season ahead.”

Tirlán is Ireland’s largest milk and grain processor, employing 2,200 people across 11 production facilities and 52 retail branches. Its award winning portfolio includes Avonmore, Ireland’s number one consumer dairy brand.
